How TONIGHT Helps You Find the Move

TONIGHT is a live board of what's happening around campus right now. Here's how it works, where the events come from and how to use it with friends.

TONIGHT blog cover: How TONIGHT Helps You Find the Move

"What's the move?" is the most-asked question in every college group chat. TONIGHT exists to answer it. It's a live board of what's happening around your campus right now and later tonight: shows, games, free campus events, food deals, fitness and nights out, all in one place.

Here's how it works.

One wall per campus

TONIGHT has a wall for each of 13 campuses in Florida and Georgia: UF, UCF, FSU, FAU, Miami, UTampa, USF, UWF, FAMU, JU, UNF, UGA and Georgia Southern. Pick your school and the wall switches to what's happening around it.

Every event is a flyer with:

  • When it starts, and a sticker if it's happening now or starting soon.
  • Where it is, with a map link.
  • The cover or cost, when the venue posts one, and a Free tag when it's free.
  • A link back to the source: the venue's page, the university calendar or the ticketing site it came from.

Events come down on their own when they end.

Where the events come from

TONIGHT's listings come from the places that actually announce them: university event calendars, career centers, performing arts centers, athletics schedules, rec center schedules, venue websites and ticketing pages. Each listing links to its source so you can double-check it. Times and covers can change, so check before you go.

Verified students can also put up their own flyers. A pickup game that needs two more players, a club event, a study group. Only students who sign in with a school email can post, and their school shows on every flyer. Anyone can report a post, and three reports from different people take it down automatically.

Find something fast

  • The time ruler jumps from "now" to after class, dinner, pregame and midnight.
  • Moods filter by what you feel like doing: go out, meet people, move around, eat something.
  • Categories split the wall into Going Out, Social, Fitness, Food, Study, Sports, Chill and Events.
  • Search finds venues, events and things like "free food".

Know before you go

People who are at a venue can post live reports: how busy it is, the line, the cover and the music. Reports fade after three hours, so what you see is recent.

See where your friends are going

Make an account (any email works) and add friends by @username. When a friend taps I'm going on something, it shows up under See where your friends are going, and you can join them in one tap.

You stay in control:

  • Friends see the plans you choose to share, never your location.
  • Switch Who sees the plans you share to "Just me" anytime.
  • Friendships are mutual, and blocking someone removes them as a friend.

Decide together

Can't agree? Start a What's the move? vote. Pick two to four options, set when voting closes and drop the link in the group chat. Anyone with the link can vote, no account needed.

Share any event

Every event has a Share button. It sends a link that opens a clean preview with the time, place and details, so friends can check it out even if they've never used TONIGHT.

Get there

Tap Ride on any event to open Uber or Lyft with the venue already filled in, or Calendar to save it.

It's free, and there's no account needed to browse

Browsing TONIGHT is free and doesn't need an account. An account (any email) adds friends, your invite link and shared plans. A verified school email adds posting.
